Hi, We've been trying to crate train my 4 1/2 month old Wheaten Terrier. When we first got him, we had setup his crate within an exercise pen and a potty patch. We put him in his crate with the door open. Each morning we find him outside of the crate. He is 98% housetrained. But, we would like to remove the exercise pen someday and want to crate him at night. On Saturday night, we crated him at night and he barked from 11pm to 3am. He finally fell asleep until 5am (we normally come down to take him out at 5:30am). The Sunday night, he went to bed at 11pm and woke up at 2:30am and barked non-stop until we came down at 5am to take him out. So, did we make a mistake by coming down at 5am? Should we let him continue to bark?
