Renee sure you can!
What kind of dog do you have? Dog size does matter for the proper dosage!
Are your dog's ears in need of a simple clean or is your pup having trouble with his ears?

Tee Tree Oil is a bit more irritating for the delicate ear ... I prefer Niaouli Essential Oil.
But I've used TTO in the past, as long as you use very little of it, you should be good!
Go with the following recipe:

Dilute the essential oil by adding 1 drop to 5 ml of a warm base oil such as extra virgin olive or almond oil.

We use Almond Oil because it's so gentle and nourishing.

You want coat the ear with almond oil without drenching it!

Good Luck!

Avi yes you can use olive oil, go with the extra virgin type.

Like I mentioned in my article, add some Niaouli Essential Oil to your EVO it will also freshen up the inside of the ear. Your dog's lovely ears will smell super nice:)
Here are the directions:

Niaouli Essential Oil – it helps with ailments including aches and pains, respiratory conditions, cuts and infections. Niaouli is sometimes less irritating than Tea Tree Oil. Dilute the essential oil by adding 1-2 drops to 5 ml of a warm base oil such as extra virgin olive or almond oil.

Have a wonderful day!

Hi QS Lee, in response to our questions here is what I recommend:

1. YES you can replace apple cider vinegar with persimmon vinegar, it's just another fruit based vinegar, it will be just fine.

2. NO to the tea powder only because I worry that it might clog the delicate ear canal too much. Your best bet would be to seep some green tea leaves, let it cool a bit and then gently use the liquid to clean your dog's ears.

3. I'm not very familiar with jojoba oil to clean dog ears, I think it might be a little too rich. Almond oil is light and it has many healing properties that are great for dog ears. I would stick to almond oil for this one.

You can simply use vinegar OR almond oil, one or the other. There's no mixing involved and a little goes a long way. Remember you don't have to clean often - Make the experience fun for your dog :)

Great questions!

Can i replace:
1. apple cider vinegar with persimmon vinegar?
2. green tea leaves with green tea powder (matcha)?
3. almond oil with jojoba oil?
Also, do i need to clean my dog's ear with almond oil before using vinegar?
