We started out with one larger dog (Frankie - a lab mix) and got him a fairly large fluffy bed. When we adopted Lucy, another lab mix who is about 25 pounds smaller than Frankie, we got her a somewhat smaller bed. It was one of those fluffy beds that are made to resemble a couch, with cushions around the back and sides. Well, Frankie promptly decided he preferred the bed we got Lucy, and vice versa. Frankie loves to sleep all curled up and Lucy loves to stretch out and move around a lot during sleep. They very happily worked it out between them. Great post and lots of useful information.
