Do you know how easy-peasy it is to prevent all those nasty dog dental health problems? Does the term ‘give your dog a bone’ ring any bells? Other than being a cheesy catch phrase, if you really think about it – that really is the answer!
Please People…
Stop already with the powdery-colorful-dollar-store-garbage treats.
Enough with the highly-toxic-can-potentially-kill-your-dog rawhides.
Give your dog a bone and see how much better he can be.
Dog Dental Health is Serious Business.
That’s why you should definitely read our thorough dog teeth cleaning article.
If you want to keep your dog being wonderful then routinely inspecting his mouth, teeth and gums is one of your core duties.
Here’s a quick list that indicates if you and your pup may be going down the road of grave health complications and horrible dog dental problems:
- Your dog is strictly on a commercial kibble diet.
- Cleaning your dog’s teeth is a complete mystery to you.
- You don’t accept any more dog kisses because of your pup’s foul breath.
- Your dog has never had an oral hygiene checkup with a vet.
- You never offer any fresh whole foods like veggies and natural proteins.
- Your dog has never experienced nirvana while chewing on a chicken drumstick.
Instant Dog Dental Cleaning Options
The cheapest and easiest way to maintain those great big whites is with the #1 most natural tool on the planet – Raw Bones!
There are generally 2 different types of bones I recommend for your dog – recreational bones and raw meaty bones as a meal.
I only give raw-marrow bones as recreational chews to our pups. I guarantee you will get hours of peace while your dog is totally enjoying his snack and cleaning his teeth naturally. Marrow bones will generally last a few weeks before you need to trash them and repeat.
Follow my simple instructions on how to prepare marrow bones for your pup.
Halle and Charlie regularly receive a homemade meal consisting of Raw Meaty Bones (RMB’s), fresh vegetables, maybe some rice and whatever we have in the fridge. The majority of RMB’s that I use are organic chicken wings, drumsticks, thighs and carcasses. You should see our dogs bouncing off the walls when I tell them that they’re having the “C” word (chicken) for supper. LOL!
“I don’t even know where I am anymore when Mom gives me some RMB’s!” – Halle Weim
“I always eat my RMB’s fast cause I can’t believe what I’m munching on!” – Charlie Chiweenie
Regularly incorporating bones into your dog’s diet will greatly promote good dog dental health. Bones are economical, readily available and natural goodness for your dog.
Introduce the bones slowly and see how quickly your dog will fall in love with them. There’s nothing more heartwarming than seeing your dog rediscovering his primal self and just being an animal.
Banish dog dental health problems with natural raw bones. Do you give your dog a bone from time to time? Would love to hear from you.

Dental disease is indeed a serious matter, it can actually potentially kill a dog (as the bacteria travels to other organs).
It’s funny though, FDA and many vets warn so strongly against bones. They do work. And dogs love them. Know which bone to use.
PS: love your website but find the pop-ups really aggravating. Any chance of not having those?
Well we won’t get into recommendations by most vets… which recommend toxic dental chews… ;)
Hey Jana, we value and appreciate your feedback…
Are you referring to the subscribe lightbox that pops? that one should only pop once a week… or referring to the pop-up links in the article?
We’re testing a few things out at once over here… :P
I know, that’s what was recommended in the FDA release too – “safe” bone-like products … it is true that there are people who still don’t understand which bones are safe to give and which are not, and of course there are certain risks associated with poor bone choices.
I mean the pop up that pops and covers the screen, I guess it might be a subscription one, I don’t know, I hate these so much I never read them ;-)
I have no issues with anything else but really hate things which disturb reading and have to be clicked off before I can get back to the content. I don’t know if they are once a week, they seem to pop up every time I come to read an article (though, interestingly, not today :-) )
yup that’s our very important sub box – it actually should only pop up if every 7 days or so once… we’ve had to find a good balance between super annoying and opt-in effectiveness since it’s one of the key forms that HBD visitors subscribe from…
Sorry if it’s been disturbing your reading… last thing Halle and Charlie want is readers getting annoyed.
Since you brought this up… will look into spreading it out a little more maybe 10 or 14 days. Either way it will surprise you once in a while… :P
Also once we edit the setting, will probably show up right of way… just make sure you hit the close button and it won’t pop back up for 14 days
It’s the only lightbox pop we use and we try to make it the least cumbersome as possible cause we know how annoying pops CAN be…
Always Appreciate the feedback Jana!
